Bear Market Regrets and Reminders

Part of my job is to be perpetually negative. Sure, your financials are amazing… but your pipeline is empty.

My job bleeds into my view of the market. Overall, we are in a bullish market. My portfolio is at an all-time high. Yet, I can’t help but think about the negative. I think that is healthy if you are a sicko like me. I made so many mistakes in the bear market.

The main thing I regret is not buying more. I bought a lot. I could’ve bought more. In the future, I’m going to use limit buy orders to reduce my delays. Buy orders trigger me to buy great companies at a great price, then I turn on DCA.

Why not buy now? Sometimes the valuations are just too much for me. I’ve been burnt too many times buying a sky high valuation, I just won’t do it again. I’ll buy a great company at a good price and I believe some of my DCAs right now are doing that, but sometimes its hard to tell what a good price is. I’ll use limit buy orders to send a message to my future self. This will help set my anchoring bias to the current stock price…
