Cash in Chaos: Deploying Funds in Uncertainty

I have about 20% of my net worth in cash accounts earning 5%. I’ve been working through an investing idea rut, hoping to find something worth investing in. I’d dive into a stock, but ultimately end up not loving it (I’m looking at you Lululemon).

What I’m Gonna Do

I’m going to deploy cash into assets.

  1. My first bias is to put it into the S&P 500, but the top-heavy tech nature vs my existing portfolio has me a little worried.
  2. The next simplest long-term portfolio is the 60% stocks, 40% bonds… but that is too many bonds for me.
  3. This leads to a favorite of mine… the all-weather portfolio.

You Idiot, the World is Ending

Yeah yeah, the world is always ending. A recession has been right around the corner for 4 years now. Plus that’s part of the beauty of the all-weather portfolio… it’s meant to weather all. I’ll deploy fully over the next few quarters. I’m just going to keep it simple. Buy assets. Hold. Maybe profit.
