Cash in Chaos: Deploying Funds in Uncertainty
I have about 20% of my net worth in cash accounts earning 5%. I’ve been working through an investing idea rut, hoping to find something worth investing in. I’d dive into a stock, but ultimately end up not loving it (I’m looking at you Lululemon).
What I’m Gonna Do
I’m going to deploy cash into assets.
- My first bias is to put it into the S&P 500, but the top-heavy tech nature vs my existing portfolio has me a little worried.
- The next simplest long-term portfolio is the 60% stocks, 40% bonds… but that is too many bonds for me.
- This leads to a favorite of mine… the all-weather portfolio.
You Idiot, the World is Ending
Yeah yeah, the world is always ending. A recession has been right around the corner for 4 years now. Plus that’s part of the beauty of the all-weather portfolio… it’s meant to weather all. I’ll deploy fully over the next few quarters. I’m just going to keep it simple. Buy assets. Hold. Maybe profit.
